Bio

As a natural born answer-seeker I have always been interested in seeking the reason for things. Ranging from "What's the real difference between extroverts and introverts" to "How was the universe created and where will it be in a billion years time". Having grown up in the digital transformation age where the entire history of the human race is now in my back pocket and only a Google search away, I have constantly tried to develop my understanding of the world and progress my skills in areas I find fascinating. After completing my GSCE's and A-levels and securing my first job I quickly realised that my natural strengths lend me to be adaptable and strong suited to guiding and directing roles. I love interacting with people and working with them to bring out their best self. This ranged from teaching additional classes in school to being a mentor for the Xbox Ambassador program.  I enjoy pushing myself and being given the independence and trust to complete tasks to the best of my current ability and then some. Nothing is too complicated with a willing mind, time, persistence and the internet.

My Experience

Roles and Resonsibilities

July 2023 - Sept 2023 Software Engineer, Famli I was onboarded during the summer to help finish the content on a flutter mobile application, to meet a strict project deadline. This included working with front-end code to ensure Figma designs were correctly mapped out into the finished product, ensuring the backend database was kept in sync with new content, paying attention to sizing issues with scale. This resulted in doubling the amount of content during the time I was employed.
Sept 2019 - June 2021 Technical Support, BT Consumer Responsible for resolving any technical issues customers may have with Broadband, Landline, TV or other services. This included training for safety and wellbeing, as well as communication. Trial and error skills were required to resolve a vast array of faults. This often included unique issues that were new to my team.
Feb 2020 - April 2020 COVID Response HW Team, BT Consumer During the first several months of COVID I was delegated responsible for the transition of over 75 advisers to work from home. This involved a rapid change of systems as well as learning many new procedures over a short duration. There was little company guidance at this time, and so I had to design my own instructions to provide colleagues with. This tested my ability to produce easy to understand universal steps to follow.
June 2014 - Sept 2014 Volenteer, Hele Angels Charity Store While on my summer holiday staying in Torquay, Devon I volunteered to work in the local charity shop. This gave my my first experience working on a till system as well as introducing me to handling money and finance. I designed several spreadsheet to better track and forecast budgets.  I contributed to over a £2k return to the local community over a 4 month period for local schemes at the community centre.
Nov 2017 - Current Ambassador, Xbox The Xbox ambassador scheme is a volunteer pathway for enthusiasts to contribute to the gaming community. As well as testing pre-release software for bugs, and submitting feedback reports/logs, I also am responsible for ensuring the community guidelines are adhered to. This includes inclusivity and ensuring participants are welcoming and diverse. This role also gave me great skills in time management and creating detailed reports on a monthly basis.
